Two people were injured in a rollover accident on Route 58 just before 8 o’clock this evening.

A westbound Chevy Lancaster SUV attempting to turn left into the P.C. Richard parking lot collided with an eastbound Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Jeep flipped over, injuring its two occupants.

The male driver of the Jeep and a male passenger were transported by Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Peconic Bay Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said. The driver of the Chevy and his female passenger were both uninjured, according to police.

No tickets were issued at the scene, police said.
