Riverhead Police today arrested a Wading River man in connection with the armed robbery of a Wading River gas station in during last month’s blizzard.

Police said Kevin P. Warner, 20, was charged with first-degree robbery in the gunpoint hold-up of the Valero station on Route 25A in Wading River.

Warner was an inmate the Suffolk County jail when he was arrested today on the robbery charge after an investigation by Riverhead Police detectives, according to a Riverhead Police press release issued this evening. He was transported to Rivehead Police headquarters for processing and then arraigned in Riverhead Justice Court.

According to Suffolk County Criminal Court records, Warner was being held in lieu of $20,000 cash bail following a Jan. 30 burglary arrest.

Editor’s note: A criminal charge is an accusation. By law, a person charged with a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
