A single-car crash on Roanoke Avenue just north of Reeves Avenue just after 6 o’clock tonight sent two people to Stony Brook University Hospital.
The vehicle was southbound on Roanoke when it left the roadway and overturned into a utility pole. The impact of the crash collapsed the roof of the vehicle, officials said.
Riverhead Fire Department heavy rescue unit responded to extricate the man and woman trapped inside the car.
Their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, officials said.
