Peconic Bay Medical Center is selling United States flags at the hospital’s gift shop through May 26 to raise money for the U.S. Armed Forces and the Northport VA Medical Center Women’s Wellness Center.

Women are the fastest growing subpopulation of returning vets. All VA medical centers are implementing comprehensive primary health care for women, coordinated by the women’s veterans program, PBMC said in an announcement.

The Riverhead hospital is hosting a memorial ceremony honoring veterans on May 27 at 12 noon at the hospital’s front entrance. The Riverhead Middle School band will perform a selection of patriotic songs. A speaker will address services available to women veterans.

Flags are being sold this month for $5 each.
