Riverhead Police are searching for a man who unlawfully entered a home on Sound Avenue in Calverton at about 1:30 this morning.
A woman called police to report that she’d awakened to find an unknown man in her residence, watching her. She told police she began screaming, startling the man who fled through a window he’d apparently used to enter the residence. The man fled the area in an unknown direction, police said.
Several police units, including a K9 unit, were dispatched to search the area, in the vicinity of Twomey and Oakleigh avenues, but they were not able to locate the suspect, according to the report.
Police said the investigation is ongoing at this time and anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Riverhead Police at 631-727-4500 Ext. 633.
