Frank H. Slavonik, a longtime resident of Aquebogue died on Wednesday, September 21, 2016.  He was 88 years old.

He was born on June 11, 1928 in Orient to Stanlislaw and Laura (nee Janeczko) Slavonik. Educated in Mattituck Schools, he married the former Edna Breitenbach in 1950 and together they made their home in south Aquebogue.

They eventually built a home on Church Lane in Aquebogue and Frank farmed the land on West Lane. In later years, he was a landscaper.

He enjoyed tending to his yard and gardens, riding his tractor and growing vegetables.

Predeceased by his wife Edna on April 30, 2012; he is survived by children: Cheryl Rosset of NC, Nancy Keller of Riverhead and Terri Slavonik of Calverton and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 26th from 10-11 A.M. at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck.  Funeral services will begin at 11 A.M. with Father Robert Kuznik of St. Isidore’s R.C. Church officiating.  Interment will follow at Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery in Cutchogue.
