A two-car crash on Route 58 today sent one person to Peconic Bay Medical Center with minor injuries, according to police.
A Mazda minivan exited the Empire gas station on Route 58 and attempted to cut across two lanes of traffic and make a left-hand turn onto Oliver Street, according to police. As the minivan attempted to make the left-hand turn, it was t-boned by a Nissan headed eastbound on Route 58, police said.
The male driver of the Nissan was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center by Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps with minor injuries. The driver and passenger of the minivan refused treatment.
