Up to a real challenge? Get ready for Titan 5K obstacle run in Riverhead Oct. 22

This race is not for the faint of heart — or the faint of muscle, either.

The website for the Titan 5K shows just how tough this one is. It is a timed race and claims to be one of the most challenging in New York. It promotes fitness, wellness and community — the organizers of the race donate part of the proceeds to the 296 Project which helps veterans suffering from PTSD and TBI.

The race will be held on Oct. 22 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the grounds of the 4H Camp.

Events in the race include “over 25 obstacles including many ninja warrior obstacles…[with] a variety of  components including crossfit, marksman and shooting components. The organizers challenge entrants to test their limits and abilities with this extreme run.

According to the website, whether “you are a competitive racer or a family looking for a fun run, the Titan has the course for you. The wooded trails of 4H Camp located at 3186 Sound Ave. in Riverhead are ripe for your adventure. As you cross the finish line a photo finish picture will be taken compliments of Elitefeats. This race is timed and you will be able to obtain your time immediately after your cross the finish line or on our website 24 hours later.” Tickets for the race are $59 or $69.

Participants must be at least 10 years old to enter the race.
