The North Fork Community Theater will hold auditions this week for their next play, Almost Maine by John Cariani, which will be put on in January.
NFCT is looking for four actors (two men, two women) to play 19 characters in the play, which tells the story of a small town in Maine.
“Almost, Maine — a town that’s so far north it’s almost in Canada — almost doesn’t exist because its residents never got around to getting organized. So it’s just … Almost. One winter night, while the northern lights shimmer above, Almost’s residents find themselves falling in and out of love in the strangest ways. Hearts are broken; love is lost, found and confounded. And life for the people of Almost, Maine, will never be the same,” the theaters website reads.
The casting call is for actors who are or appear 25- to 35-years-old. Auditions will be held Sunday Oct. 23 and Monday Oct. 24 from 6 to 8 p.m., with callbacks on Wednesday Oct. 26 from 6 to 7 p.m.
Performances will be held January 20 through February 5.
