Three people were arrested by Riverhead Town Police last night as part of the department’s Stop-DWI New Year’s holiday enforcement effort.

Justin W. White, 20, of Aquebogue was arrested on a charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, police said. He was processed at police headquarters and released on an appearance ticket.

Erica R. Quintana, 22, and Danilo A. Ventura, 22, both of Cutchogue, were arrested on driving while intoxicated charges, police said. Both were processed and held for arraignment.

Riverhead Town Police will continue the Stop-DWI enforcement throughout the town, concentrating on select holiday dates sich as Super Bowl Sunday, St. Patrick’s Day and Memorial Day, according to a police press release.
Editor’s note: A criminal charge is an accusation. By law, a person charged with a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
