Riverhead Police are seeking the public’s help to locate and identify the man who held up the Walgreens Pharmacy on Route 58 on Sept. 1. (See prior story.)
Police said the man entered the store shortly after 7 p.m., and walked around the store before approaching the front register area, where he displayed a handgun to a clerk and demanded money. The suspect fled the store on foot after receiving cash from the clerk, according to the report.
The suspect was described by police as a white male, approximately 5 feet- 9 inches tall, in his mid-40s, unshaven with long black hair, wearing sunglasses, black boots, tans cargo shorts and a gray sweatshirt.
Police yesterday released surveillance camera images of the robbery suspect and asked anyone who can positively identify the suspect depicted in the photos or who has knowledge of or information regarding the incident to contact the Riverhead Police Department detective division at 631-727-4500, extension 332.
