Eleanor G. Czerniawski of Riverhead died Jan. 8, 2017 at her home. She was 97 years old.
She was born on Nov. 8, 1919 in Baiting Hollow to Henry and Jessie (Sujeski) Goozda.
She graduated from Riverhead High School in 1938. In 1941 she was married in Wading River. She worked as a bank teller at Franklin National Bank in Riverhead.
In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, doing crossword puzzles and reading.
Predeceased by her husband Jeffrey in 2011, she is survived by her sister Helen Tyska of Calverton and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12 at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home. A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at St. Isidore’s Cemetery.
