Riverhead Police today announced the arrest of a man they say stole a Dyson vacuum cleaner from the Route 58 Target on Dec. 4.
Police said Brian Jenkins, no address provided, was charged with petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor in the theft of the vacuum, which was valued at about $600.
The arrest was the result of a Riverhead COPE division investigation, police said.
Jenkins was arraigned in Riverhead Town Justice Court and remanded to the Suffolk County Correctional Facility, according to police.
Editor’s note: A criminal charge is an accusation. By law, a person charged with a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
