Cucina 25, a new pizzeria and restaurant has opened for business in the former Uncle Joe’s location at 12 West Main Street.

The traditional pizzeria will be open for lunch and a full-service Italian restaurant will serve dinner every evening, partner Sean Kenna said.

And Cucina 25 delivers.

“We plan to make our lunch and evening delivery a big part of our business,” Kenna said, noting that delivery options around town are very limited.

Kenna and partner Rober Manolio opened yesterday afternoon.

Cucina 25 is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Phone: 631-381-0388/0389. Fax: 631-381-0391.

“We’re both very excited to be here on Main Street in Riverhead,” said Kenna.

The downtown center had three pizzerias until recently. Uncle Joe’s Pizzeria shut its doors in September. Julia’s Pizza on East Main Street just off Peconic Avenue closed in June 2014; a Mexican restaurant is located there now. Papa John’s on East Main Street near Maple Avenue was open for just under a year and folded in April 2014.

Kenna, 29, who lives in Shirley, has a background in restaurant management. He’s worked at the Riverhead Applebee’s for the past eight years, where he’s done everything from hosting and bartending to managing.

Robert Manolio, 34, a Stony Brook resident, is the pizza man, Kenna said. He had a pizzeria in Smithtown and most recently was a manager at Public House in Patchogue.
