2013 0123 artist pallet

The South Street Gallery in Greenport is seeking artists to participate in their second annual postcard sale to raise money in support of Long Island’s only NPR radio station, 83.3 WPPB.

Artists are asked to create 5 x 7 inch unsigned images which will be sold without the buyers knowing what artist painted which postcard.

“Part of the fun of this fundraiser is that the pieces are purchased not because of who made them, but because of the artwork and how it resonates with the viewer,” said South Street Gallery representative Estfany Molina

Artists’ names are on the reverse side of the picture; eventually the buyer will know who created the postcard they purchase.

All pieces will be priced at $50 and all proceeds benefit 88.3 WPPB. Previews will be held June 1 from 12 to 5 p.m. and June 2 from 12 to 9 p.m. on the Greenport Gallery Walk. The sale is June 3 beginning at 6 p.m.

The South Street Gallery is located at 18 South Street in Greenport. Click here to email the gallery or call  477-0021 for more information.

The submission deadline for artists to contribute work is May 29 by 6 p.m.
