Two men armed with a knife and a sword robbed another man this afternoon in Riverhead, according to Riverhead Town Police.
Police arrested one man in the incident and are looking for the second suspect.
The victim called police at about 2:20 p.m. to report an armed robbery in a wooded area west of Osborn Avenue north of the railroad tracks, according to a police press release. The suspects took the victim’s backpack and fled on foot. The victim chased the suspects.
After a search of the area, police located Eddy Rodriguez, 27, of Riverhead and charged him with first-degree robbery.
Police ask anyone with any information about the robbery to contact the Riverhead Police at 631-727- 4500 ext. 328. All calls will be kept confidential, police said.
