The Riverhead Community Awareness Program (CAP) is sponsoring its 29th Annual Say NO to Drugs March at the Pulaski Street School. Students, teachers and members of the community march together wearing their lettered t-shirts proclaiming theirs to be drug free bodies. After the march, they assemble on the lawn in front of the Pulaski Street School to take a pledge, led by Riverhead Town Supervisor Sean Walter, to remain drug free. This is follwed by addresses from area politicians, RCSD Superintendent Nancy Carney, and this year’s featured speaker, Riverhead Police Officer Dennis Cavanagh, who was also named the Riverhead News Review’s 2013 Public Servant of the Year.
This year’s Honored Guest and Keynote Speaker is Riverhead Police Officer Dennis Cavanagh, the Riverhead New-Review’s 2013 Public Servant of the Year!
The march begins at 9:30 a.m. in front of the school and continues down Main Street in downtown Riverhead. The marchers reassemble in front of the Pulaski Street School for a short program and then enjoy a picnic served by the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1742.
