On May 1 through 3 members of the McGann-Mercy Theatre Company will perform their version of Elton John and Tim Rice’s Broadway show Aida. Based on Verdi’s opera of the same name, Aida, this musical opens in the Eygptian wing of a modern day museum, where two strangers meet and a “transported” back to ancient Egypt. A love story between Aida of Nubia and Rada.m.es of Egypt, both warring nations, evolves with a tragic ending. With over 50 students coming together to produce this show, it is a sure shot to entertain the theatre going community.

Running from Thursday, May 1st through Saturday, May 3rd in the school auditorium, the show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person.

In the mood for dinner and a show? On Friday night, May 2nd, make it an evening out by attending the Mercy on a Mission Annual Spaghetti Dinner before the play. The Spaghetti Dinner will be served from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 a piece, which includes a ticket to the show. Proceeds from the dinner will benefit the McGann-Mercy Theatre Company.

Bishop McGann-Mercy High School is located at 1225 Ostrander Avenue in Riverhead.
