Riverhead varsity boys basketball came away with a win Monday night. Senior Markim Austin had a career-high 23 points and contributed 6 rebounds and 5 assists in a 75-65 win against Copiague.
Junior Brandon Tolliver added 11 points and 11 rebounds while senior Ryan Bitzer put up 10 points and recorded 5 assists in the team’s third game. The boys are 2-1 on the season. The first three game have been non-league contests.
The Waves’ first league game is Wednesday night against Newfield at home.
“It should be a good game, but I expect to come out on top,” said varsity head coach John Rossetti, “Our three best players are back this year.”
Tip off on Wednesday is at 5:45 p.m. The junior varsity starts at 4:00 p.m.
