A 15-year-old boy who was reported missing from the Wading River Motel Tuesday evening was located by police about an hour later in Calverton National Cemetery.
The boy is autistic, according to radio reports, and was last seen at about 6 p.m. At 6:30 p.m. police were notified of the missing child and Riverhead, Suffolk County, New York State and Suffolk County Parks police as well as a Suffolk County police helicopter and K-9 units from Riverhead and NYS responded to search the area, according to a press release issued by the Riverhead Police Department.
The boy was located in Calverton National Cemetery after about an hour of searching, the press release said.
The mother told police it was their first night at the motel.
