A 36-year-old Riverhead man is under arrest after kicking his mother in the head while she was driving because she wouldn’t take him to buy drugs, according to Riverhead Town Police.
Paul Booker Jr., of 425 Doctors Path, is charged with criminal contempt in the first degree and second-degree harassment and is scheduled to be arraigned in Riverhead Justice Court this morning, police said in a press release.
Booker was arrested after police responded to his residence on a report of a dispute at 10:18 p.m. Sunday.
Booker’s mother Josephine, had an order of protection against her son, directing him to refrain from acts of violence and physical harassment against her.
Booker has prior convictions of harassment in 2013 and disorderly conduct in 2012, according to Riverhead Justice Court records.
Police did not say whether Josephine Booker was injured in the incident.
