Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and the Riverhead Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a man who stole more than $1,000 worth of sneakers from a downtown Riverhead shop in May.

The man purchased five pairs of sneakers from Sneaker Aquarium on East Main Street on May 23 using a stolen credit card, according to police.

The suspect is described as black, 6 feet, 3 inches tall, clean-shaven with a heavy build. He was wearing dark blue pants and a light blue hospital scrub shirt. He also wore a stethoscope around his neck.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with any information is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS or contact the Riverhead Police Detective Division at 727-4500 Ext. 327. All calls will be kept confidential.
