This fund was established to collect donations to help defray medical expenses for Michael Hubbard, age 14, who was severely burned when a citronella gel candle ignited as he was setting up for a party in his aunt's backyard May 28, 2011.
Michael sustained third-degree burns to 40 percent of his body. His mother, Nancy Reyer, was also badly burned as she tried to put out the flames engulfing her son.
Michael's aunt, Fran Reyer, established a trust account for his benefit at Suffolk Federal Credit Union, Route 24, Flanders NY 11901. The federal tax ID number for the Michael Hubbard Fund is 80-073-0857.
