Riverhead’s Townscape concert series continued this week at Grangebel Park with a performance by local Americana trio Mixed Nuts.
About 80 people came down to Grangebel Park last night to enjoy the free music. Most concert-goers brought their own lawn chairs and picnic blankets.
Riverhead Townscape is a local not-for-profit organization that organizes the popular concert series every summer. Townscape volunteers and friends also decorated Main Street with hanging baskets Wednesday during its annual Hanging Flower Basket Garden Party.
The concerts will continue every Friday at 7 p.m. at Grangebel Park until August 22, with the exception of Friday, August 8, when there will not be a performance. The schedule for the remainder of the series is as follows:
July 25: The Long Island Sound Symphony –
August 1: Under the Influence – 70′s music
August 15: Buddy Merriam and Backroads – Bluegrass
August 22: The Gilleece Twins and Chris Benedict – Electric mix and sing along
