2014 0407 riverhead library

Tomorrow is library budget vote day for Riverhead Central School District voters.

Riverhead Free Library trustees have proposed a $3.5 million operating budget for the 2014-2015 year. The proposal calls a $3,352,213 tax levy, a 1.9 percent increase ($62,431) over last year.

The bulk of the increase in expenses is attributable to payroll expenses, up a projected $25,437 over last year’s budget.

Next year’s budget has no debt service line, because bonded indebtedness associated with the library expansion and renovation has been paid off.

Voting will take place in the library meeting room from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
