Antoinette Normoyle, of Flanders, died at her home on Aug. 15, 2014, the day after her 77th birthday after a four-year battle with lung cancer.

Born in Queens on Aug. 14, 1937, she was the daughter of Tom and Wilhelmina Murray. She married Stanley Normoyle April 8, 1972 and worked for 30 years at the Suffolk County Real Property Service Tax Agency in Riverhead.

She was an active parishioner at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, where she volunteered in the parish outreach program. She was honored by the parish as Woman of the Year in 2004.

She was affiliated with Normoyle Racing and a fan of auto racing, the N.Y. Yankees, the N.Y. Liberty women’s basketball team .

She is survived by her husband Stanley; her son and daughter-in-law, James and Roxanne Normoyle Sr.; her grandchildren, James Jr., Kyle and Courtney Normoyle and Erica, Michael and Joseph Manglaviti; and by her great-grandson, Tanner James. She was predeceased by her uncle, Ernie Mikanek.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, Aug. 19, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Riverhead. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to McLaughlin-Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead.
