George F. Klatt, of South Jamesport, died Aug. 8 at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead. He was 87 years old.
Born in Manhattan on June 21, 1927, he was the son of Hertha (Borrman) and Hans Klatt. He served in the Merchant Marines from 1945 to 1948 and was the owner of Hans Klatt and Sons Inc. in Aquebogue.
He is survived by his wife Mary; his sons, Frederick, of South Jamesport, and William, of Jamesport, and his daughter, Christine Stevens, of South Jamesport. He is also survived by five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead. Cremation will be private.
