Mattie Langhorne, of Riverhead, died August 13, 2014. She was 94 years old.
She was born to Harrison and Evangerlean Johnson in Rice, Virginia on June 7, 1920. Wife of Melvin Langhorne, she spent her life as a dedicated homemaker and enjoyed cooking and bingo.
She was predeceased by her husband, Melvin, and son John in 2010. She is survived by her daughters, Rita Ross, Dorothy Langhorne, Ellen Coles and Elvane Langhorne; her son, Richard Langhorn; her sisters, Pearline Hawkings and Lula Johnson and her brother, Richard Johnson, as well as 21 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
She will be dearly remembered by her loving friend, Mabel Martin and her niece Linda Frances.
The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, August 19 from 9 to 11 a.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home. A service will be held at 10 a.m. in the funeral home.
