The North Fork Animal Welfare League has purchased the Scoshire Kennels site on Church Lane in Aquebogue. Anxious to get out of the inadequate Youngs Avenue facility, the organization began moving into its new digs as soon as the deal closed.

Police search for thief who stole purses from vehicles at Riverhead Animal Shelter
Two purses containing cash, debit cards and other valuables were stolen from vehicles parked outside the Riverhead Animal Shelter on Youngs Avenue this morning. A debit card from one of the purses was used about a half-hour after the theft at a Riverhead gas station.
