In partnership with local businesses, Peconic Bay Medical Center and the Riverhead Police Department, CAP is placing 2-inch stickers on participating businesses’ items — like deli sandwiches, take out bags and coffee cups — which say: “Congratulations Class of 2023. Live Your Best Life: Celebrate Sober.”

Hundreds of enthusiastic Riverhead students concluded their year of learning about the dangers of substance use and abuse during the 36th annual Riverhead Community Awareness Program "Say NO To Drugs" march this morning.

The brightly colored stickers placed by Riverhead students on pizza boxes at Carlo's Pizza Oven in Riverhead warn adults against buying alcohol for someone under 21 and provide information about the dangers of flavored tobacco and vape products.

The Riverhead CAP is seeking community volunteers to help teach its "Drug and Alcohol Prevention Program" to fifth and sixth grade students at Pulaski Street Elementary School for the 2022 to 2023 school year.

CAP's annual march against drugs, alcohol and tobacco will return this year after a two-year absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The march is set for Friday, June 10. Tijuana Fulford of the Butterfly Effect Project is this year's special guest and keynote speaker.
