The site plan for a two-story, 36,250-square-foot self-storage facility on Main Road in Riverhead, just west of County Route 105, won preliminary approval from the planning board Thursday.

New auto dealership on Route 58 and new restaurant and inn on West Main Street gain site plan approval. Plus other actions taken at March 7 Planning Board meeting.

The court last month dismissed the developer’s lawsuit challenging the Riverhead Planning Board’s decision in April to incorporate the intersection improvement into its findings on the developer’s application. 

The proposed self-storage facility, a two-story, 36,250-square-foot building, will be located on an approximately 3.4-acre property at 61 Main Road, just east of Dari Land Ice Cream.

A proposed 412,000-square-foot light industrial park on Middle Country Road in Calverton gained preliminary site plan approval yesterday in a unanimous vote by the Riverhead Planning Board. 

HK Ventures' plan to build 412,000-square-feet of industrial space on a 30-acre site in Calverton will be the subject of a public hearing Thursday evening before the Riverhead Planning Board.

HK Ventures, the developer of a proposed 412,000-square-foot industrial park in Calverton, has sued the Riverhead Planning Board over a requirement that the State DOT must complete the reconstruction of the Edwards Avenue/Middle Country Road intersection before any town permits will be issued.

A majority of speakers urged the Riverhead Planning Board to reject legalizing an already-built expansion to the Riverhead Ciderhouse during a public hearing last night, arguing the approval would grant undeserved forgiveness to a business that has previously disregarded the town’s rules.
