Peconic Bay Medical Center and the other members of the East End Health Alliance — Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport and Southampton Hospital in Southampton — have reached a contract agreement with Aetna Insurance.

The hospitals announced Tuesday that they have extended their current managed care contract with Aetna and will remain in Aetna’s network for both commercial and Medicare products. The agreement also includes the employed physicians at each of the Alliance hospitals.

Alliance hospitals remain out of network with Empire Blue Cross, whose contract with the Alliance expired July 31, 2009. Negotiations between the Alliance and Empire Blue Cross continue, sources say.
