A snowmobile apparently sparked a fire in a barn on Roanoke Avenue Saturday morning.  Eight units and 50 firefighters from the Riverhead Fire Department responded to the scene to put out a smoldering fire. A smoke detector in the barn alerted the owner, who called 911, Riverhead Fire Chief Gio Woodson said. Flanders Fire Department assisted. No one was injured in the incident.
