Women of Distinction nominations sought

Dear Friend:
I  am  writing  to ask your help in nominating a woman from the FirstSenate  District  for  the  New  York  State Senate’s 13th Annual “Women ofDistinction”  program.   The event honors exceptional achievement, personalexcellence,  and  outstanding, courageous, or heroic actions on the part ofindividual women from across the state.
In  past  years,  honorees  have  joined me at a special reception inAlbany  to  accept the “Women of Distinction” award.  Award recipients havehad  the  opportunity  to  meet  with  a cross section of women from senatedistricts  throughout  New  York whose hard work and dedication have helpedenrich our state and communities.
This  year,  the  “Women of Distinction” ceremony will be held at theCapitol  on  Tuesday,  May  25 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  I hope you willconsider nominating a woman living in the First Senatorial District who youbelieve  is  deserving  of this award.  The First Senate District stretchesfrom  Port  Jefferson  to  the East End (both forks).  Nomination forms areenclosed  and  may  be copied if you wish to nominate more than one person.Please  be  sure to include an explanation of why your nominee is worthy ofthis  special  honor,  as  well  as a phone number you can be reached at ifadditional  information  is  needed.  Nominations must be received by April12.   You  may  also  e-mail  your nomination to segall@senate.state.ny.us.Please  write  W.O.D. in the subject line and be sure to include all of therequested information.
