Carmine P. DioGuardi of Aquebogue, died on November 7, 2013 at the L.I. State Veterans Home in Stony Brook. The cause was ALS. He was 71 years old.

Born in Mt. Morris, N.Y. on August 7, 1942 to Joseph and Sarah (nee Noto) DioGuardi, he was a graduate of Mt. Morris High School. He then served in the United States Army for three years until his honorable discharge as a Sergeant.

On November 12, 1965, he married Elizabeth “Josie” Geraci in Caledonia and later became the father of three children: Lori (Jim) Peraino of Geneseo, N.Y., Sarah (Scott) Hassildine of Cutchogue, and Carmine DioGuardi Jr. (Stacey) of Lima, N.Y.

He is also survived by his siblings: Sam (Dee) , Joe  (Rose), Tony  (Dorothy) and John (Peggy), all of  of Mt. Morris, N.Y. Chuck (Nancy) of New Jersey, Ida Meek (Jerry) of Arizona, Sarah Quirk (Jim) of Rochester, Donna Perham (Roger) of Piffard, Ann Sullivan (the late Jack) of Florida, JoAnn Prew (Richard) of Florida, Julie Brennan (the late Dan) of California and Sharon Farrell (Jim) of Rochester, NY; five grandchildren: Rachel Peraino of Chili, NY, Nick and Natalie Peraino of Geneseo, NY, Joshua Hassildine of Cutchogue, NY and Cory DioGuardi of Lima NY; a large extended family and many friends. He was also predeceased by brothers Richard DioGuardi and Pat (Fran) DioGuardi.

Carmine was a retired custodian with the Mattituck-Cutchogue School District and a member of the Living Water Full Gospel Church in Aquebogue.

The family received friends on Saturday, November 9 at the DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck, where services were conducted by Pastor George Dupree. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 15 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the John W. Martin Funeral in Mt. Morris, N.Y., where services will be conducted by Donna Perham.
