Former Riverhead resident Marilyn Woodhull of New Port Richey, Fla., died Dec. 4, 2013. She was 61 years old.
Born in Riverhead on Aug. 21, 1952, she was the daughter of Eugene and Eunice Woodhull.
She graduated from Riverhead High School and later worked as an IT manager for AT&T and served on the board of the AT&T Pioneers in Tampa.
She was very involved in many nonprofit organizations, including Big Brothers Big Sisters, March of Dimes and United Way.
“She loved family and friends, cherished good times, and always had to capture the moment with a photo. She never left home without a camera. She saw the positive in people, was an optimist always, and loved with her whole heart.” her family said in a statement.
Ms. Woodhull is survived by her daughter, Melanie Villafana of Washington, Ga., her son, Michael Berendt of New Port Richey, her granddaughter, Jazlyn Villafana, and her brothers, George, of Riverhead, and Lawrence, of New Port Richey; and one granddaughter.
