Riverhead Middle School thespians have been working hard learning lines, practicing songs, and building sets and scenery for their spring musical.
The RMS Masques will present Once on This Island March 17 and 18 at 7 p.m. each night.
The show delivers a message of tolerance and acceptance through a story set on a tropical island. The story is a Lawrence Olivier Award-winner from the songwriting team of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. It tells the tale of Ti Moune, a peasant girl who rescues a wealthy boy from the other side of a Caribbean island and the pompous gods who preside over the island who make a bet with one another over which is stronger, love or death.
Tickets for the show are $5 and are available at the Middle School office.
