An Aquebogue woman is asking for help finding a family heirloom ring she lost during the Alive on 25 event Thursday night.
Larrin Gerard, a musician hired by Moustache Brewery to perform at the street festival, believes she left the ring on the bathroom sink in PeraBell Food Bar.
She was on a break between sets outside East End Arts and she walked up the street to check in on her two-year-old daughter, who was at PeraBell with family members.
“I’ve lost some weight recently and it was a little loose,” Gerard said. She remembers taking it off to wash her hands. Gerard’s toddler was in the bathroom with her. “I was distracted wrangling with my toddler. I think I left it on the sink.”
She called the restaurant early Friday hoping they had the ring. No luck. She’s posted her appeal on social media, too.
“It was my great-grandmother’s. She wore it every day of her life. It means a lot to me,” said Gerard, 33 — who also wore the ring every day. She was very close with her great-grandmother, who passed away in 2001.
“I’m desperate to find it and hoping someone found it and sees this,” she said..
The ring is gold and has two garnets, her great-grandmother’s birthstone.
Gerard is offering a novel reward for the return of the ring.
“I don’t have a whole lot for a reward but I am a musician and would play a party for free,” she said. “I think I could also arrange for a tasting with a local winemaker, as my husband works for one on the North Fork.”
