Cops: Bay Shore man charged in theft of $4,784 worth of power tools from Riverhead Home Depot

A Bay Shore man has been arrested on grand larceny charges in connection with the theft of merchandise from the Riverhead Home Depot store on five days in September. Riverhead Town Police said today in a press release.

Police said Justin J. Cruz, 26, removed assorted power tools having a total value of $4,874 from the home improvement retailer on Sept. 7, 8, 13, 24 and 25.

Cruz was charged with three counts of grand larceny in the fourth degree and two counts of petit larceny. He was arraigned and remanded to the Suffolk County Correctional Facility in Riverside.

Riverhead police said additional arrests are expected in connection with these incidents.
