Alvania Maston, a longtime resident of Cutchogue, died in Frisco, Texas on February 12, 2018. She was 83.
She was born in Southampton in 1934 to William Johnson and Parthenia White.
She was educated in the Greenport School system. She was a retired certified nursing assistant at a Riverhead nursing facility. She belonged to Unity Baptist Church in Mattituck where she served on the usher board and the nursing unit.
She is survived by two daughters, Deborah of Owings Mills, Maryland, Donna (Robert) Randolph of Windsor Mill, Maryland, a son, William Jr.(Diane) of Frisco, Texas, two grandsons Jonathan Randolph of Baltimore, Maryland and Devin Maston of Windsor Mill, Maryland and a sister, Dolories Samuel of Harlem, New York.
The family will receive visitors on Friday, Feb. 23 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the DeFriest Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck.
Homegoing services will be held on Saturday, February 24 at 11 a.m. at Unity Baptist Church in Mattituck, officiated by Reverend Pastor Marvin Dozier.
Interment will follow at the Cutchogue Cemetery.
