A Queens man was arrested today on grand larceny charges in connection with the theft of power tools from the Lowe’s Home Improvement Center in Riverhead, town police said this afternoon in a press release.

Police said Peter Schnauder, 52, of Middle Village, Queens, stole numerous power tools from the Route 58 retailer on multiple occasions beginning in September and continuing through last month.

After an investigation by Riverhead Town Police detectives, Schnauder was charged with three counts of grand larceny in the fourth degree, an E Felony and a misdemeanor charge of petit larceny as a result of the investigation, police said.

Schnauder is also facing a March 11 charge of grand larceny in the fourth degree brought by the Suffolk County Police Department, according to the release. He was processed and arraigned in Riverhead Town Justice Court and remanded to the Suffolk County Correctional Facility.
