Maria Concetta Esposito of Riverhead died April 17, 2018 at the Westhampton Care Center. She was 102 years old.
She was born in Naples, Italy on Dec. 8, 1915 to Antoinette (nee Topi) and Anthony DiPalma. She came to the United States at age 5.
With little formal education, she nevertheless excelled at many things. She sewed boots and became a professional singer. She sewed clothing for her young daughter, as well. She enjoyed playing Scrabble and her family said she would be remembered as a great cook, baker and flower gardener. She was also good with numbers they said.
Predeceased by her husband Felix Joseph Esposito in 1971, her sister Mary Conelli and her brothers Peter, Frank, Mike and Felix DiPalma, she is survived by her children Xavier A. of Virginia, Anthony of Rockville Centre, Felix M. of Florida, Francis D. of Oregon and Maria C. Schenone of Mattituck, her grandchildren Carmen (Matt), Felix J., Xavier A. II (Melissa), Carmen, Connie, Stephen, Anthony Jr., Lucca, Shiloh, Joseph W., Craig and Jared, by nine great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
