Apostal Passadakes of Rego Park and Southold died on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. He was 50 years old.
He was born July 9, 1967 in Istanbul, Turkey to Alexandra (nee Moussas) and Andrew Passadakes. He grew up in Rego Park where he attended P.S. 139, Russell Sage Junior High School and graduated from Forest Hills High School. He then went on to St. John’s University where he attained dual degrees — a bachelor’s degree in communications and a bachelor’s degree in business.
He was an avid sports enthusiast and loved soccer, football and hockey. His favorite team is the New York Islanders. He enjoyed history and astronomy. More than anything, he loved his family.
He was a member of St. Demetrios Church in Queens and attended Transfiguration of Christ Greek Orthodox Church in Mattituck.
He is survived by his mother, Alexandra, and his sister, Maria.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 7 from 8 to 10:30 a.m. at the DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Southold.
The Divine Liturgy will follow at 11 a.m. at Sts. Anargyroi Taxiarchis And Gerasimos Greek Orthodox Church on Main Street in Greenport.
Interment will follow at Saint Patrick’s R.C. Church in Southold.
After the morning’s services, all are invited to join the family at the Olive Branch Restaurant in Greenport at 2:30 p.m.
