Sophie Fink died July 31, 2018 at her home in Aquebogue. She was 98 years old.
She was born November 24, 1919 in Laurel to Joseph and Annie (Chwoliboga) Swotkewicz.
She was a homemaker who owned and operated Fink’s farmstand on 25A in Wading River. She loved talking to her customers and giving apples away to them. In her spare time, she enjoyed making jams and jellies. She was an animal lover.
Predeceased by her husband Edward in 1984 and her son Thomas in 1983, she is survived by her daughters, Sophie Stapon of Jamesport and Dolores Kreitsek of Mattituck, her sons, Edward of Florida and Donald of Jamesport, and by 18 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors on Thursday, August 2 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral is scheduled for Friday, August 3 at 10 a.m. at St. Isidore R.C. Church. Interment will follow at St. Isidore Cemetery.
