Rain and possible thunderstorms in the forecast this weekend have prompted changes in scheduled outdoor events.

The cardboard boat races scheduled for Saturday have been postponed to Sunday, Aug. 26. Start times will remain the same.

Reflections, the art and light show in Grangebel Park, has been canceled for Saturday night. It’s still on exhibit Friday evening.

The Stop the Violence basketball tournament will move indoors for the first time in its decade-long history. The tournament will take place in the Riverhead High School gym on Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free for the annual tournament in which 10 teams battle for a top cash prize of $5,000. The first tip-off takes place Saturday morning at 9 a.m.
