Dana W. Staib, a resident of Rocky Point, formerly of Jamesport died on Aug. 9, 2018. He was 73 years old.
The son of Jean Charlotte (Bergman) and Warren Staib, he was born on April 1, 1945.
He served proudly in the United States Army and retired as a longtime employee of King Kullen and member of UFCW Local 1500.
Predeceased by his wife Nancy in 2015, he is survived by his children, Danielle Curtis (Chris), Joe Pizzurro (Vilma) and Frank Pizzurro (Jacqui); his brother David and sister-in-law, Peggie; and his six grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, August 16 at Rocky Point Funeral Home, 603 Route 25A, Rocky Point. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 17.
Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a memorial created by his children for Glioblastoma research and therapy, the disease that claimed his life.
