Stephen A. Zurawski of New Market, Tennessee, formerly of Riverhead, died at home on Aug. 17, 2018. He was 65 years old.
He was born April 12, 1953 in Bay Shore, the son of Edward and Ruth Zurawski. He attended Riverhead schools and graduated in 1971. He went on to Diesel Automotive School in Denver, Colorado and worked as a diesel mechanic in Texas and New York. He met his wife Cathy in 1984 and they were married on Oct. 30, 1987.
Steve enjoyed cooking, woodworking and restoring his 1967 Chevrolet pickup, but his greatest love was fishing with his wife, Cathy.
Predeceased by his parents, his brother Robert J. Zurawski Sr. and his nephew, Robert J. Zurawski Jr., he is survived by his wife Cathy, his daughter Candice Zurawski of Riverhead, his brother Edward Zurawski Jr. of Aquebogue, his sister Diane Breitenbach and brother-in-law Emil Breitenbach of Aquebogue, his niece Melissa Elco, his nephews Emil Breitenbach Jr. and Kyle Breitenbach, all of Aquebogue, and his great nieces, Emma Freeborn and Madison Elco.
A memorial service will be held in early November in New Market, Tennessee.
