An 18-year-old man has been arrested and charged with first-degree assault in connection with the shooting of two people in a parking lot on Railroad Avenue Sept. 29.

Riverhead Town Police said an investigation led to the arrest today of Rayquan Lee of Calverton in connection with the shooting incident, that seriously injured a 32-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman in a parking lot behind a bar on Railroad Avenue.

Lee was processed at the Riverhead Police Department and arraigned in Riverhead Justice Court, police said. At arraignment, Judge Lori Hulse set bail at $1 million cash or $3 million bond, according to a police press release. Lee was remanded to the Suffolk County Correctional Facility, police said.

Police said they would not release a mug shot of Lee “because of his age.”
