Harold L. McBride of Riverhead died Dec. 8, 2018. He was 87 years old.
He was born in South Ozone Park on Aug. 29, 1931 to James and Frances (O’Connell) McBride.
He graduated from John Adams High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1951 to 1953.
He was the owner of Mac Air Freight in Lawrence.
He married the former Florence Ryder on Sept. 7, 1957 at St. Anthony’s Church in South Ozone Park. They moved to Riverhead in August 2001.
He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed fishing at Shinnecock Inlet. He was a kind and generous person, his family said.
In addition to his wife of 61 years, he is survived by his son Chris and daughter-in-law Regina, of Shirley and by his granddaughters Amanda and Nicole, both of Whitestone, Queens.
Visitation will take place at Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home in Riverhead on Tuesday, Dec. 11 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, followed by a funeral service at the funeral home, Deacon Frank Barone officiating. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
