Anna M. Teuber of Waynesboro, Virginia and Palm Bay, Florida, formerly of Riverhead, died Dec. 10, 2018. She was 91 years old.

Born May 20, 1927, she was the daughter of Ralph and Helen Janichen of Calverton.

She graduated from Riverhead High School in 1945 and studied nursing at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. She worked as an emergency room nurse and an ob/gyn nurse at Central Suffolk Hospital in Riverhead.

She married her high school sweetheart, George Teuber, on Nov. 27, 1949. They built a home on property divided from his family farm in Riverhead and there raised a family of six children. They moved to Murphy, North Carolina in December 1995 and later moved to Waynesboro, Virginia.

She enjoyed gardening and nature. She was known for her handmade pine needle baskets and her specialty “Grandma’s cheesecake.” She lived life to the fullest right to the end, her family said, even taking a trip to Poland in October.

Predeceased by her husband of 62 years in 2011 and a sister, Barbara Schoenewolf, she is survived by her children, Elaine Hotcaveg, of Waynesboro, Virginia, Timothy Teuber of Pleasanton, California, Ralph Teuber of Riverhead, Vinny Teuber of Palm Bay, Florida, Julie O’Brien of Knoxville, Maryland and Stanley Teuber of Fleischmanns, New York. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
